  • Self-Esteem is the term used to describe 🖊 how a person thinks💭 and feels about their own qualities and characteristics.
  • It is also known as self-confidence or self-worth.

why do people need self-Esteem?

Give sometime to yourself and think💭 about what makes you happy 😊and don’t compare yourself with other okay? If you do this you will feel happier.

For example

  • A person with low self-esteem may feel insecure, nervous, and depressed😌, and avoid new or difficult situations for fear of failure or rejection.
  • A person with high self-esteem may feel confident😎, motivated, and optimistic, and pursue their goals with interest and determination.

Factors that affect self-Esteem

  • Childhood: How you were treated and taught by your parents and teachers.☠
  • Society: How you fit in and relate to the dominant group in your culture.
  • Media: How you compare yourself to the images and messages you see and hear.👂🏻
  • Religious beliefs: How you view🧐 yourself in relation to your faith and values.
  • Genetics: How you receive certain traits (mannerisms) and characteristics from your parents.
  • Personality: How you develop certain traits (mannerisms) and characteristics over time.🤺
  • Life experiences: How you cope with the events and situations you face.

  • Join a group or a community that matches your interests or passions.
  • Practice positive supports.
  • Do something kind to someone else.
